For this image, I was trying to capture the details of the brick and glass. By making the image black and white and turning up the clarity and texture, I was able to create this dramatic, textured chapel image. This image gives a more serious and scary mood rather than the colorful chapel in the original image.
For this image I was trying to capture the details of the petal. Similar to the chapel image, I increased the texture and clarity of the image to really capture all the nuanced details on each petal. The black and white effect gives the image a more serious tone compared to the original colorful, light-hearted image.
For this image I wanted to the stormy beach day to be enhanced through a black and white filter. Although you can tell a storm is coming in the original photo, the black and white accentuates the gray storm clouds and dark ocean in the picture.
For this image, I wanted the highlight to be of the text. I increased the detail, texture, and black levels so the text would be prominent and the texture of the paper would be visible. The black and white helps set a more serious mood for the photo rather than the bright, calming mood in the original colored photo.
For this image, I really wanted there to be a sharp contrast between the subject and the dark background. I wanted her to be the main focus of the picture and for the background to fade into black. The black and white photo helps set a more dramatic mood to the photo.
For this photo, I wanted to focus on the lighting. I did this by highlighting the white’s in the top half of the photo and darkening the shadow on the bottom. This helps create a more dramatic scene of the Tic-Tacs. I also increased the clarity and texture to enhance the details of the label of the Tic-Tac container.
For this photo I wanted to completely change the mood of the photo. The original colored photo has beautiful colors that create a calming and peaceful mood. For the black and white photo I wanted to completely flip this and create a dark scene. The darkness of the photo makes the ocean look more rough and simulate that of a storm.
For this photo I wanted to add to the dramatic angle of the shot and add the black and white, increasing the shadows and darkening the books. I also enhanced the clarity and texture of the image so each detail of the book can be visible.
This photo, already giving a serious, dramatic tone due to her pose and face, I wanted to enhance that. By adding the black and white it gives a timeless look enhancing the contrast of the darkest blacks and the lightest whites in the image.
For this image, similar to that one of the beach, I wanted to change the narrative. The original photo shows that of a sunset on the windowed building and the edited black and white image gives the impression of the aftermath of a storm. The snow on the ground adds to the illusion of a storm and the black and white creates a spooky mood.
